Juicing!!

Alright, I have been asked by some peeps to post my Juicing recipes I've been diddling around with lately :)  I juice in the morning and at night and I have not had more energy in my LIFE!! My hair and nails grow like wildfire and my skin has never been so clear and bright!

There are many benefits to juicing but I'm too lazy to go over them.  Use your google machine.

Morning Juices!
4 carrots
1 orange
1/2 lemon
2 leaf kale

Morning Juice 2 (energy)
1/2 cucumber
2 sticks celery
2 apples
1/2 lemon
1/4 inch ginger
2-3 leaf kale

Morning Juice 3 (refreshing)
1 grapefruit
1 apple
2-3 carrots
1/4 inch ginger
1/2 lemon

Morning Juice 4 (good for hangovers!)
1 beet
2 apples
1 orange

Night Time Juice!
5 carrots
2 stick celery
1 cup parsley

Now, I also make "energy balls" and I LOVE THEM.  NOTE:  I have a nut allergy!! THESE ARE NUT FREE and NO BAKE!

Now, I have seen recipes like this all over the Internet so I just tweaked them a bit to make them nut free!

1        cup oatmeal (I tossed in the blender to chop it up or you can use coaches oats)
3/4      cup Soy nut butter
1/2     cup honey
1/2     cup ground flax seed
1/4     cup chia seeds
1/2     cup pumpkin seeds (shelled)
1-2     tsp vanilla, coconut flavoring, any flavoring! Shake it up a bit!
(1/4-1/2 total combined)  cup chocolate, butterscotch, white chocolate any kind of chips you want!

Mix everything together, chill for a lil bit and roll them! I put mine into little baggies (2 per bag) so I can just grab n go!

You can substitute peanut butter, any type of nuts, seeds etc. for these.  You just need a sticky base to hold everything together!

Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week.

Makes about 15 balls.

Etsy, don't fail me now!!

Well the derby did not go as I had hoped. About an hour in my friend got a terrible migraine and we had to leave! I didn’t even get a chance to sell any hats L  I plan on putting them up on Etsy tomorrow and see if they will sell. I am pretty heartbroken because I spent WEEKS of grueling sweat shop like sewing to get these done in time.

Here is me with my hat, minnow scoops,  60 layers of clothing and OH MY do you see those glittering gloves of FABULOUSNESS? Yes me and my glue gun had an all nighter with those bad boys. They turned out awesome. They are warm and stylishly awesome.

I will set up a link to my store once I get my items posted!

Oh fishy fishy fish fish!

Wow. I have been sewing and sewing for a couple weeks now. I think I have gone through 4 twelve packs of googly eyes  at this point and my glue gun is getting lots of attention. My burnt and singed fingertips are pretty pissed at me but its all for the good of the fishies!

Last night I sat at my table while I hot glued gemstones and eyeballs to my most recent fish creations. It is very time consuming and finger burning process to go through. I am only doing full gemmed fins on the 3 hats for myself, my buddy and her aunt who I am doing the derby with. I put some gems by the eyeballs on some of them to add a little sparkle J

I’m not sure if I want to add gemstones to the “plain” pink, blue and green ones. We will see how much my fingertips can take from all the hot glue abuse.  The “gems” in question are from Joannes “Big Bag of Bling” and “Bag of Bling”. For $10 (I used a 50% off coupon, they are usually $20) I got 1lb bags of gemstones. I thought it would be nice to make them shiny and stand out on the ice a bit more.

I have posted the picture of the light blue and green hats I have made but I also went off the deep end and bought a bunch of florescent fleece as well. While walking from the car to my house with the bag of florescent fabric I noticed how well it stuck out next to the snow! I wish I would have made all of my hats florescent but alas it is too late to change that.

The florescent ones are tiger stripped with orange fins, cheetah print with pink and orange fins, then hot pink, orange and blue.

Fleece addict

Well I thought I had my addictions under control; my yarn was put away and not bursting out of its drawers, all my hooks were neat and orderly and I had not bought a skein for months.

Then I discovered fleece.

Oh soft and fluffy fleece! Where have you been my whole life!? Very easy to sew, so versatile in what you can make with it! Mittens, hats, scarves, hats, headbands, and HATS!!  I sewed and sewed to my hearts content on Sunday and completed 11 fishy hats for the charity fishing derby this year. My back is killing me and my husband told me it looked like I was running a one woman sweat shop...

Time is a very hard thing to come by when you are busy, hence why I hung up my crochet hooks for a while.  I am a pretty fast crocheter but when you don't get more than 20-30 minutes once or twice a week, it doesn't accomplish much.

Then I discovered fleece.

I can grind out hats like my J.O.B. Thread and fleece fluff is flying as I attempt to get my fix. The longer "child-adult" hats I made up my own pattern from the idea of a santa hat and the fishy hat I found on an old old pattern I had bought at Joanne's I think called Teazer (i think?) I only have the cut outs of it now anyhoozle.

You have no idea how excited I was to put "googly eyes" on my grocery list. I really wish I could find some big ones that have eyelashes and colored lids but alas the ones I have will work just fine.
I do plan on making a "GLAM" version of this hat for me and 2 other girls who work at the derby. Bright colors, eyelashes maybe even some gemstones to really class it up.

The adult ones I am going to make are going to be camouflage fish with pink or neon orange tail/fins/inside lining. I hope these are a hit as well :)

Work, crochet, repeat.

Well the hats at the fishing derby were a hit!!! Got many many compliments and i even got an order to make 6 of them for next year for someone. I'm very excited and honored that someone asked me, a complete stranger to do something like that :D

My hyrule blanket is seeming to be more complicated than i had imagined. After finishing about 1 wing i started over because I did not like the way it was looking. Now instead of working in strips(why on gods green earth why would i even attempted that? *bonks self on head*) I am working in rows Ive divided the pattern into 6 sections, im almost done with 1/4 of the blanket and a little yarn to spare. If i run any lower i will have to start taking apart the ruined section of the old hyrule blanket for yarn...must...scavenge..

This is the start of a 1up mushroom blanket I'm working on. Its going to be checkered mushrooms and rainbow colors :D

Here is what im working on as of the Hyrule blanket, its not going to be as big as i wanted it, but i will put more of a black border all the way around to make it bigger :D

Here fishy fishy fishy...

Well this was kind of a last minute project but I am helping my friend with a kids ice fishing tourney next weekend and decided that we needed something festive and fun to wear...

BEHOLD.... RAINBOWFISH
Cheap yarn, h hook and alot of thinking. I didnt have a pattern for this hat, just kinda pulled it out of my butt.

Now that I've made one it should be a lot quicker to whip up another one. I did it today while we were all watching the superbowl.. I think i use the superbowl as an excuse to drink and throw a party anyways.
